Analysis
Findings: The customers entering the store were stopped by a man who was advertising right in front of the store. Customers avoided the man by entering and going to the right. Customers entered the store and there was products everywhere to the left and right. When I entered the store I was a bit overwhelmed from all the different products being displayed.
The decompression zone technique was used. To the left and right of the decompression zone there were mannequins lined and after about 15 feet the racks and products were introduced. There were also poster and different displays with clearance and products offers. It was difficult to get a good picture of the Decompression Zone because there was a security guard in front of the store. The store does not utilize the Invariant right technique there is another entrance and the path way leads to the center of the store having nothing on the left and right. Women that entered the store did follow the Invariant right because the products for most women were located on the right of the entrance. The winter clothing was on the left which were mostly ignored by the people entering the store. I noticed the Butt- Brush Theory in the store, there was a section with clearance items and it was unorganized. There were racks and racks with no spaces and clothes on the floor. I observed a woman looking at one rack and because the rack behind her was so close many of the t-shirts that were hanged touched her behind. The lady walked and ignored the racks behind her, the same occurred with the man in the image above. Petting was also utilized in the store, like the other stores there were tables and huge displays with different products. It was most common with shirts, sweaters, and pants. This image with the pants seemed to be most visited because they were on sale. People seemed to touch, grab, and feel the jean material. The shoes were displayed to make it easier for people to feel, touch, and try on. The women walking around seemed to be intrigued by the shoes. |
